ANDY'S LETTERS is meant to help a child learn the alphabet, but it must be used with common sense.
Using the program with a child who is too young, or who knows none or only a few of the letters, may result in frustration and may impede rather than help the child. Sitting with the child and giving some answers the first few times the game is played may help prevent frustration. Some children do not react well to losing.
This version of the the game quizzes only upper-case letters. If there is enough interest, I will build in support for lower-case letters.
In short, for best results try to keep a child challenged but not frustrated. If the game helps, use it. If it does not, do not use it. It is unlikely that a child will find the game as much fun as purely recreational games. Andy prefers other games to this one.
Be aware that this program teaches only a very low level of knowledge. Being able to point to a letter when its name is called does not mean that the child will be able to identify a letter when shown it. That is a slightly higher skill.
